Residential complex for  disabled people

2015 | CLT | Healthcare | San Felice sul Panaro (MO) - Italy

This project is a structure of about 680m² composed of 4 rectangular bodies interacting with each other and the surrounding greenery.

Each rectangular body occupies two floors and has a double-sided roof cover up with a maximum height of 10.5m. The structure is fire-resistant for up to 60 minutes and is composed of CLT panels, with floors built from CLT panels resting on gluelam beams. The roof comprises of a self-engineered off-site prefab “multibox” system: wooden beams with interposed wood fiber insulation, all enclosed between two OSB panels. The use of these individual modules accelerates the construction of the roof and also considerably reduces its thickness.
